From the numbers at the General Post Office must be deducted one clerk (Marine Sorter) and one Marine Stamper either going to or returning from Singapore, occasionally two.

ATTENDANCE.
The hours of attendance are nominally :-
1. Senior Clerk 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on ordinary days. Outward mail day 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and at any and all other times of arrivals or departures of contract mails.
Supt. of Registration Branch 9.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. On the departure of Contract Packets for Europe 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at any and all times on the arrival of contract mails.
2. Storekeeper. 4 Accountant 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
At 9 a.m. on the departure of contract mails for Europe and at all times on the arrivals or departures of Contract mails,
Supt. and clerks in Money Order Office 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All the other clerks work in two reliefs, viz., from 7 a.m. to noon and from noon to 5 p.m. All hands attend on the arrivals or departures of contract mails. The afternoon spell coming regularly at 9 a.m. on Saturdays, the day of the departure of the contract mail for Europe.
At the Branch Offices the clerks attend from 7.30 a.m. to noon and from noon to 4.30 p.m. relieving each other. The shroff from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The clerk of the morning spell selling stamps between 7.30 and 9 a.m.
